So, What are watercolors exactly? Watercolors or waterpaints are water based paints(duh) that exist in both paste and solid form. They can be used by the addition of water in their base pastes or solids. Their usage varies with the amount of water used in them and the type of paper you are using to paint on. Generally paper of thickness of 150-200 gsm is preferred for waterpainting.
GSM means Grams per Square Meter; It is the unit by which

Doujinshi: How to make a fancomic and not dieFan Art Week
Reading fanfics about your favorite series or manga is kinda common, but sometimes you can find images of the manga that look genuine but show the characters in unusual situations that you would never see in the canon. These are the so called 'doujinshi' or fancomics.
Before begin with tips and tricks about make a doujinshi, let's see some definitions:
Japanese word which literally means a group of people with the same interests, but it is often used as a shorthand for doujinshi.
Doujinshi is amateur manga publications, featuring either a cast of original characters and plot or characters from another manga or an anime (a 'fan manga'). There's all sorts of doujinshi, though it isn't as widely circulated as more popular mangas, such as CLAMP works. Doujinshi is often cheap but is just as good as regular manga (well, some of the time...), and is sold on eB
#InktoberHell yes, #inktober is starting!
For those that do not know what inktober is, it's a challenge that's been going around for a few years now. It's about making daily/regular drawing with ink.
Think about regular ink, fineliners, markers, but I've even seen digital ink being done (might be an idea for those that don't have traditional ink and/or and are broke as hell).
For the complete story, I'd recommend you to check out this website.
I was originally planning to go for the full 31 days, but then my health messed up again :')
So I'm now trying to do a regular schedule with at least 3 a week (the weekends) which is for me challenging enough considering crappy health, loads of hospital appointment, and obvious social obligations (seriously? Why is everybody's birthday in October? WHYYYY???)
But... I'm not gonna make a journal without at least providing s
Copyright Resources CompilationFan Art
When we talk about Fan Art, the question of copyright tends to come up. There have been a lot of resources posted on the subject on DA over the years and sometimes they can be tricky to find. So this is a comprehensive compilation on the topic posted by staff, who have had legal consultation. I have left out older articles that are similar to the ones I included as the more recent ones would have the most accurate information.

(and more specifically , and )
While I have shared official articles and FAQs here, I know there are a lot of unofficial articles on the topic.
Tips and Tricks: Action Scene Basics
How to Draw Manga! Tips and Tricks: Action Scene Basics Introduction
Action scenes are a key part of any manga, whether they be a placid shoujo to a shounen mecha showdown. Action scenes are a dynamic action driven panel showing a fight or action against an inanimate object, or a passionate realisation. All of these follow a similar formula to create the action sequence.
Setting the Scene
When creating an action scene first consider the what action is being performed and how the two objects/subjects are interacting, i.e. show the force of the movement. For a person, it they are being hit, they will reaction in accordance to the force applied.A common way of achieving this is using the < shape to indicate where they are being hit. Take into consideration anatomy; if a person is being hit in the stomach they will produce a nice < shape with their head and shoulders coming forwards, whilst the hip becomes the poi

How to Start Writing I'm going to start this off by saying, I'm definitely not the best writer out there and I am still learning, but I just want to tell you a few thing that helped me out!
However first and foremost, you really need to practice!
Step one: Plot / Story Line
How to come up with a plot / story line
This may be difficult for some, and this may be easy for others. However every story you are going to write, has to have a plot.
Here are some questions to ask yourself!
What type of story do I want to write? How will I end it? Who is the antagonist and protagonist? How will I portray the emotions through the story? How long do I want it to be? What is the climax/peak of the story going to be?
As you begin to ask yourself questions, you can start seeing a story line forming!
Another helpful way is making song!fics. Now this is used for fanfictions and short stories.
I don't recommend you using them for actual
a conversation with Uncle SamWould you rather it be us or them?
I say next question please
as if to loosen the noose my tongue has become
and You say speaking of, all good things come with a price
and I try my hardest not to disagree.
Faith is the ultimate form of patriotism
so I stand up a little taller
as military jets fly overhead and baptize
the sky with their presence.
You say the best defense is a good offense.
But what about the bombs?
The fat boys and little men we scatter
with soft voices and big sticks
and You just smile that smile,
and by now I feel that the silence is somewhat appropriate.
We drop bombs because we all want to feel
a little more like god sometimes,
and what can be more American than that?
On losing a friend(it did not end in tears.)
I could give you armfuls of oceans, great
mountain ranges wrapped in silver bows,
a coral reef gleaming like a sapphire chain
but you will always ask for a dormant volcano
and a star you can hold in your palm.
And I have tried to be that star, have tried to
combust bright enough, shrink small enough
but it is never enough for you. You kiss my
mouth with those carmine lips and swallow my
heartbeat with your gentle laugh and I glow
I glow and you go you go you go on stringing
me along a trail of crumbs, making me forget
that I am starving myself for your table scraps.
I could press the slats of pre-dawn light into your
answering machine, could fold dust columns that
fall between venetian archways into your bedsheets,
could hang the lost jewels of jaguar fangs clattering
above your dreamcatcher and you would only ask for
a dormant volcano and a brittle sea-salt glass wave.
And I have tried to capture the tides and I have tried
to blow glass but my hands are clum
Novels and Shorts - Plotting the Easy WayCommunity Week
Hi guys! My name's BloodSplotchedInk, and I would like to talk to you about basic plotting tricks for those of you new to planning novels and short stories.
To some people, planning may seem like more work than it is worth, especially for shorts. Sometimes we have ideas that we're just so in love with, we just want to pour it onto the paper, even if we don't always know where it is going. And that's where we tend to get stuck. We look back and are either at a loss for where we need to go, or have dug ourselves into a hole. Or, in less severe situations, we finish and end up with plot holes, which as authors we may or may not catch before publishing.
So if you've never plotted before, how do you begin? There's so many suggestions out there, it can be overwhelming. Today, I'm going to list some of my favorites, and in what situations they can be useful.
Short, But Descriptive, Overviews
You might have an idea that you feel you just have to get onto paper
LotteryThe contest is over, but I can't forget about the second stage - a lottery. At first I thought that the second part will be held on the second day, however, I decided to defer. The lottery will be held next month, of course I'll tell you about this a little earlier.
Tomorrow, I give notice at work, so my life will be full of change. Wish me luck!
Once again, I wanted to thank you for all your amazing arts!
The choice was really tough, but in the end I decided!
First place wins:
This drawing enchanted me a
manga screentone that are less than 5 dollarsI actually found a place that sell screentone for like 1.20USD
I Know is a small family business... so let me talk in detail
I purchase the manga screentone at this I waste like over 100 dollars for 130 screentones... and guess what the price... 1.20 USD for one sheet of screentone ( one dollar 20 cent)... and when they ship to my house, I open it and they are exactly the same as DELETER and all those famous brand that create manga screentone. THeir set of color is fantastic too, the color is so strong and warm.
I order online at this facebook page shop called CRT screentone, they have many valuable item they create to help mangaka improve with a a very cheap price. As I was saying is only 1.20 USD. this shop is a small family business who the owner of this store seem like he spent a lot of time experimenting the screentone and created to help the mangaka in his country ( which is Vietnam)... But I feel kindda suck people woulnt buy his stuff because the owner was a chinese man w

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni was born 540 years ago on March 6, 1475.
His preeminence in the art world as being one of the two greatest artists of the Italian High Renaissance (1495-1527) assures that his lasting presence is felt as keenly today as it was five centuries ago. Every year, art lovers from around the world make special pilgrimages to Italy, drawn by a visceral need to experience in person
